    The 440G-T27255 TLS-2-GD2 guard-locking solenoid switch by Allen Bradley Guardmaster offers improved protection for machine operators by keeping safety barriers fully secured. This versatile unit features 2 entry slots on the head, which can also be rotated to allow 4 actuator entry points. A blanking plug is provided to seal the unused slot. It is also suitable for use with PLCs.

    This safety switch is a positive mode, tongue-operated interlock switch that ensures guards are safely locked while machinery is in motion. The barrier can only open when the internal solenoid is de-energised by an external signal. It also keeps power isolated when the guard is open. This helps to prevent the risk of personnel entering a hazardous area where injury may occur. This cost-effective guard-locking safety switch is perfect for use with machines which do not stop instantly, or which may be damaged by interference while in motion.

    The 440G-T27255 safety switch has Power to Lock functionality, M20 Conduit entry, and a GD2 Standard Actuator. The solenoid voltage is 24 V ac/dc with 1NC/1NO contacts. The switch has 2NC Safety Contacts and 1NO Auxiliary Contact. This unit has a high holding force of 2000N (450lbs), ensuring greater stability and security of the safety guard. It is also environmentally protected to IP67, making it perfectly suited for use in wet environments where machinery is frequently washed down. This safety switch offers superior durability as the housing material is made of robust UL approved glass-filled PBT and the actuator is comprised of stainless-steel. The operating temperature is -20°C to +60°C (-4°F to +140°F). It has a rated insulation voltage of 500V and a thermal current of 10A.

    Warning: With the “power to lock” function, provisions are required to ensure that a dangerous situation cannot result from open circuit faults or power cuts.

    What are Solenoid Interlock Switches?


    A solenoid interlock switch is a type of safety switch with an internal solenoid; a wire coil which converts electrical energy to mechanical. This type of mechanism limits access to dangerous areas where machinery may be functioning by ensuring that that barriers remain securely shut. The safety guard can only be opened through either energising (Power to Release) or de-energising (Power to Lock) the solenoid with an external signal. They are often used in industrial environments, for example with high inertia rotating machines.
