Allen Bradley Guardmaster Spartan Guard Locking Switches

Secure your guard doors with the Spartan Safety Switches by Allen Bradley and create a safer environment for machine operators.

These switches are ideal for replacing traditional tongue interlocks and have the same footprint as the Trojan tongue interlock. They are supplied with a dedicated Spartan Actuator. These reliable switches have Power-to-Release functionality and 2N/C 1N/O contacts. They also have lid mounted status indication for quick and easy troubleshooting, and a rotatable head with 4 possible actuator entry positions.

In applications where excessive force can be generated such as rebound of heavy doors, the TLS-GD2 or Atlas should be considered.

Operational override key ( order separately) can be used to unlock locking mechanism in emergencies.

Allen Bradley Guardmaster Spartan 440G-S36001 Solenoid Interlock Safety Switch

The Spartan 440G-S36001 guard locking device is a positive mode and tongue operated switch that firmly locks safety guards while machinery is in motion and isolates power when the barrier is released. This helps to prevent unsafe access to dangerous areas for personnel and reduces risk of damage to equipment through premature interference. The mechanism can only be released when a signal is applied to the internal solenoid, which allows the tongue to be removed from the switch. The Spartan switch is a cost-effective solution which is perfectly suited for use with machinery that does not come to an immediate stop.

This Power-to-Release safety switch has a supply voltage rating of 24VAC/DC and 2NC Safety Contacts and 1NO Auxiliary Contact. It provides enhanced stability with a high holding force of 770N (173 lbs). Conduit entry is M20. The housing material is comprised of UL approved resilient glass-filled polyester, and this switch has an operating temperature of -20°C to 60°C. It has a thermal current of 10A.

What are Solenoid Interlock Switches?

A solenoid interlock switch is a type of safety switch with an internal solenoid; a wire coil which converts electrical energy to mechanical. This type of mechanism limits access to dangerous areas where machinery may be functioning by ensuring that that barriers remain securely shut. The safety guard can only be opened through either energising (Power to Release) or de-energising (Power to Lock) the solenoid with an external signal. They are often used in industrial environments, for example with high inertia rotating machines.
