    Description

Allen Bradley 1492 SP Series Miniature Circuit Breakers – Type D

Safeguard your electrical circuits with the general purpose 1492-SPM Type D Miniature Circuit Breakers by Allen Bradley. These circuit breakers offer high performance and ensure enhanced protection for equipment.

These MCB’s have instantaneous breaking time and feature type D tripping. They are available in 1, 2 and 3 pole versions to suit your application. The 1492-SPM miniature circuit breakers are current limiting and can be easily mounted on a DIN rail. These units are also IP20 finger-safe for greater protection, and they have dual terminals for wiring and bus bar flexibility. These dependable MCB’s help to prevent downtime from nuisance tripping as they also have superior shock and vibration resistance. The 1492-SPM series allows installation of up to six accessories on the same circuit breaker so that you can optimise your safety system with ease.

Type D MCB’s are usually used for specific industrial and commercial applications with very high inductive loads and where high inrush current frequently occurs, for example with x-ray machines, large winding motors, transformers, and welding equipment. A type D MCB will trip instantly at a rate of ten to twenty-five times its rated current.

Allen Bradley Miniature Circuit Breaker, 10kA Breaking Capacity, 4A Current Rating - 1492-SPM2D040

This miniature circuit breaker (MCB) from Rockwell Automation's Allen Bradley range provides overcurrent protection for equipment where branch circuit protection already exists or isn't needed. Its fast breaking time ensures an instant reaction to a fault, which protects equipment from damage and reduces the risk of electric shocks. The unit's resistance to vibration and shock means you don't need to worry about nuisance tripping. Its terminal design helps you avoid wiring misses, making the MCB easier to terminate.

What are MCB’s and how do they work?

    • Screw terminals that hold wiring securely, even in vibrating operating conditions
    • Quickly snaps onto a DIN rail for fast mounting
    • Space-saving as you can mount accessories on the bottom of the unit
    • Dual terminals clamp from both sides for connection reliability
    • Environmentally friendly as it's fully recyclable

    Standards and Certifications

    • UL (Underwriters' Laboratories)
    • CSA (Canadian Standards Authority)
    • CCC (Chinese Standards)
    • CE (Conformitè Europëenne)
    • VDE (Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker)
    • RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances)

How does this MCB trip a current?

This MCB contains a bimetallic strip that heats up and bends when exposed to unsafe or abnormal current levels. When this happens, its switching mechanism trips and separates its contacts to interrupt the current flow.
