This unit is a magnetically actuated non-contact interlock switch which is designed to be installed on a machine guard door. When the safety barrier is opened the magnetic actuator is withdrawn from the switch, which opens the NC safety contact and isolates power to the machine. This ensures that operators cannot access a hazardous area where machinery is in motion, minimising risk of injury and downtime. It is perfectly suited for use with hinged, sliding, and lift-off doors.

The 440N-G02082 Ferrogard safety switch has 1NC (Normally Closed) safety contact and a 6m cable. The safety contact switching capability is 24 V dc at 1 A current. The operating distance for this magnetic safety switch is 12mm (make), 23mm (break). The FRS 9 housing is comprised of resilient moulded ABS plastic, which is red for easier visibility. The enclosure is sealed to IP67 (NEMA 6P), ensuring that this unit is dust-tight and water-resistant. The Ferrogard safety switches also have protected safety contacts to ensure that they do not fail to danger.
