    The MC2 switch is expertly designed to meet the risks of more complex modern safety guard monitoring applications. This unit combines several magnetically sensitive elements which must be activated in a specific order to work correctly and allow the safety barrier to open. This improves guard door security and helps to decrease risk of injury to machine operators from hazardous equipment, minimising downtime.

    The 440N-Z21W1PA safety switch has 2NC solid state relay safety outputs and 1xPNP auxiliary output, 0.2A max. It enables rapid identification of door status and easy troubleshooting with its LED indicator. This unit has a 3m cable and a supply voltage rating of 24V dc. The operating distance is 10mm (make), 25mm (break). It also has red housing to ensure high visibility of the switch. This switch offers high durability in wet environments as it is sealed to IP69K. This means that it can withstand powerful jets of water and is also dust-tight.

    The versatile sensor offers simple, effortless installation due to its small size and moulded-in brackets. For high-risk applications a control unit is used with a single sensor to provide a high-integrity system. For other applications, multiple sensors (including mechanical switches) can be connected.

    What are magnetically coded non-contact switches?


    A magnetically coded non-contact switch is a device used for monitoring the position of machine safety barriers. They are typically used in industrial environments. It uses a magnetically-actuated reed contact and a specially-coded actuator. When the barrier is opened the contacts will either open or close due to the magnetic force interrupting the circuit. As there is no contact between the sensor and actuator they take less wear, are resistant to shocks and vibrations, and are highly tamper-proof, which gives them a long service life. They are often used for sliding, hinge, and removable gates.
